Putting her big hair to good use, Cheryl
Cole recently shot a L'Oreal Paris campaign for which she is a
spokesmodel.
Though Simon Cowell once told the former
"X Factor" hopeful to get rid of her voluminous 'do, the 29-year-old refused to
take the curmudgeon's advice. In her autobiography, Cheryl: My Story, she
described his comments as "irritating beyond belief."
The English popstar is getting the last
laugh. Her bouffant has helped her land promotional deals worth around £12
million.
Just finishing her The Million Lights
tour, Cheryl is feeling stronger than ever. She told Hello!, "I've grown as a
person and as an artist, you can hear that in my music. I feel brand
new."
With production of "Thor: The Dark World"
underway, Chris Hemsworth took time out of his busy schedule to pose for the
October 2012 cover of Prestige Hong Kong magazine.
The 29-year-old actor looked handsome in
a collection of designers including Prada, YSL, and Giorgio Armani for the
Darren Tieste shot spread while talking about topics including fatherhood and
his actor siblings.
On working with "Game of Thrones"
director Alan Taylor on "Thor: The Dark World":
"Awesome. Yeah, I love the way he adds an
incredibly organic element to the fantastical world of Thrones, and I think
that’s what Thor could benefit from. It’s grounded in reality, no matter how
mythical or science-fiction-like it becomes. There’s a truth to it all.
Certainly, working with him now, you can see he doesn’t want Thor or the
Asgardians to seem like some distant race or god-like. He still wants them to be
relatable."
On his actor brothers:
"[Laughs] No, we have a healthily
competitive relationship in everything – as brothers do. Whereas with [acting],
all three of us are so aware of the instability of it all and how much is up to
chance. It’s far more of a supportive relationship [we have in acting] than
backyard football, or surfing, or whatever else we do in our free
time."
On balancing his career and
fatherhood:
"It’s tough, certainly. When you’re all
in one place, it’s like a normal job. The hours can be inconsistent, but at
least when you come home at night, the family’s there. The toughest thing is the
press tours and the travel, which fortunately is only a couple of times a year
for a couple of weeks at a time. So the time I’m away from them can be minimal.
What will become harder is if my wife and I are both working at the same time in
different countries – that’s what we’re going to try not to do. But, sometimes
there’s an opportunity that arises for both of you which you can’t say no to. At
the moment we’re lucky; it’s early days for us anyway."
Making a remarkable career comeback with
the release of her sixth studio album "The Truth About Love," Pink pitched in on
promotions by covering the November 2012 issue of The Advocate
magazine.
Covering her chest with black tape and a
sheer tank top, the 33-year-old singer looked stunning in a corset and blazer
for the Deborah Anderson shot front page while opening up about life as a
celebrity to being credited as Adele's inspiration.
On Forbes magazine naming her the 27th
most powerful celebrity in the world:
“I still look at that sh*t and think it’s
hilarious, I feel my power as a female and as a human being. I definitely do not
feel my power as whatever Forbes was talking about.”
On inspiring Adele to become a
performer:
“That’s so huge for me. I’m a fellow
outcast, and for somebody to say that they were at my party once is like,
Really? That’s so cool, they were there. F*ck, she was 13 — how old does that
make me? If I had to influence anybody, I’m so grateful it’s her.”
On living in the spotlight:
“I’ve definitely gotten used to being
uncomfortable. It’s kind of my thing. I get a little embarrassed sometimes, but
it goes away quickly because I get a kick out of sharing it. I know that I’m an
oversharer and I always tell too much and I always take it that one step too
far, but that’s how I really am. I can’t believe that people are still
shockable.”
On her LGBT fans:
“They’ve been the most loyal part of what
I do. They’ve been my most loyal friends, to be honest. I’ve had a lot of my gay
boys around, but my gay girls are my rootstalk. I should be gay by the way that I look and the way that I am. I
just happen to not be. But it just makes perfect and complete sense.”
When it came time to dress up for
"celebrity day" at school, Britney Spears' niece, Maddie, knew just who to
choose.
The 4-year-old daughter of Jamie Lynn
Spears recreated Aunt Britney's famous Catholic school girl outfit from the
"...Baby One More Time" video that launched her to stardom in 1998.
Brit's sis shared a photo of the
pigtailed one and explained that "celebrity day" is part of her school's
Homecoming Week celebration.
In March, the former Nickelodeon star
opened up to Glamour about their sisterly relationship. "Our bond as mothers],
it's such a big thing, you know? Especially 'cause there's an age gap there --
she's 10 years older. I think if I were just a normal 20-year-old, I wouldn't be
able to relate as much to her."
Taking a break from his busy "Vampire Diaries" schedule, Ian Somerhalder garnered himself a little added exposure by
covering the September/October 2012 issue of Essential Homme
magazine.
Looking handsome as ever, the 33-year-old
actor donned an Armani Exchange cardigan for the Matthew Lyn shot front page
while talking about everything from acting to rumors that he wants the lead role
in the "Fifty Shades of Grey" film adaptation.
On the challenges of being an
actor:
"Much of life is like a television show.
You have ups and downs. You never know where it's going to go. And yes, it's
iffy as an actor, because you're at the mercy of the writers' imaginations.
You're ultimately subjected to exactly what they want and you have to deal with
it."
On taking his young audience
seriously:
"If you empower a 15-year-old kid, or a
17-year-old kid who turns 18 in October, who can vote in November - if you
empower that young person to understand what's going on in the world around
them, how certain politics and environmental implications are going to not serve
them very well later on in life - are going to affect the way that they grow up
and their children grow up - you affect that young person. They become
empowered, and an empowered young person is the coolest thing in the world. And
untimely, that's where change comes in."
Gearing up for a busy October as the
spokesperson for Estee Lauder Companies' Breast Cancer Awareness campaign,
Elizabeth Hurley turned up the heat by gracing the October 2012 cover of
Fairlady magazine.
Baring her shoulders in a pink tube top,
the 47-year-old actress looked better than ever for the Kim Knott shot front
page while dishing about everything from what makes her lose her temper to
balancing family and work.
On being the Spokesperson for Estee
Lauder Companies' Breast Cancer Awareness campaign:
"Every October I go around the world
raising funds and awareness for the campaign. We've raised more than $35 million
to fund 140 Breast Cancer Foundation research grants across the
globe."
On what inspired her to start 'Elizabeth
Hurley Beach:'
"I decided to venture into Beachwear not
only because I've always been obsessed with holiday clothes, but because it's an
area where women, regardless of shape or size, can either look amazing or really
get it wrong. I wanted to come up with some styles that make people look great
and develop a resort collection that would make a woman feel fabulously sexy at
any age."
On balancing work and family
time:
"[My son] has been very well socialized
from a young age and I can take him anywhere. Damian spend a month or so with me
in New York over the summer while I was filming "Gossip Girl," and he loved it.
He made his own short movie and ran my lines with me every night."
With his new movie "Argo" opening in
theaters on October 12th, Ben Affleck scored some added exposure by covering the
October 2012 issue of DETAILS magazine.
The 35-year-old actor looked handsome in
a Dior Homme blue coat and grey suit for the Mark Seliger shot front page while
dishing about everything from his upcoming film to being a working father of
three.
On what made him decide to star in
'Argo':
"I liked the idea of being in the movie,
pushing it forward. As an actor, you can steer a scene in another direction by
playing it a little differently. And honestly? I like being an actor, and I want
to keep having a career. It'd be very easy for me to get lost in directing for a
year and a half or two. It's a business with a very short memory."
On conserving his resources as a father
of three:
"Absolutely. Anytime you think, 'I'm
wasting my time here,' the first thought you have is 'I could go home and be
with my kids.' Now, you may go home and be with your kids and very quickly start
thinking, 'I wonder what's on the work front?' Because running around after
three kids is very trying. Now everything has to compete with being with my
family. I don't want to be a stay-at-home dad. Work is very important to me. I
like to work. So does my wife. But I need my work to mean something to me in
order for me to not be home with them."
Enjoying a fabulous lifestyle teens their
age might dream of, Kylie and Kendall Jenner continue to share candid photos of
their time at New York Fashion Week.
Kylie began with a tidbit of a video
showing the two Jenners practicing their walks for the Sherri Hill show in which
they both served as models. The young Kardashian clan members had more than one
chance to strut their stuff. Earlier today, she tweeted, "Super excited to walk
the Abbey Dawn show tonight!"
Joining the pair on their adventures was
an adorable puppy named Adam, who appears in Kylie's videos and Twitter photos,
keeping the girls company.
On September 9th, Kendall posted an
Instagram photo of herself in a bright pink gown cuddling her furry friend with
the caption, "lil A!" She retweeted a video posted by Kylie in which Kendall
takes a spill while being asked about her photoshoot amongst a sea of
dresses.
Lighting up during intermission, Jake Gyllenhaal took a break from the Off-Broadway production of "If There Is I
Haven’t Found It Yet" in New York City on Saturday (September 1).
The bearded 31-year-old actor wore a gray
t-shirt, jeans, and a black cap as he puffed away during the break in the play
with Katie Holmes reportedly in the audience.
The dark comedy centers on an overweight
British teenager and her troubled family. It is showing at the Roundabout
Theater Company.
After failing on his promise to do a play
after every three movies he made, Jake is eager to return to his roots. At the
age of 21, he made his London stage debut as a sensitive slacker in "This Is Our
Youth."
Of the experience, the "Donnie Darko"
star says, "[w]hat I loved most about working in London, in the theater, there
was a real appreciation of potential. No one comes out of the gate 100 percent
perfect. No one. I have a great sense of comfort onstage because I know taking
risks is appreciated.”
With his new movie "Skyfall" set to hit
theaters on November 9th, Daniel Craig got a jumpstart on promotions by covering
the October 2012 issue of British Esquire magazine.
The 44-year-old English actor looked
suave for the Terry O'Neill shot front page while dishing about the '007'
franchise and his successful career in front of the cameras.
Highlights from Mr Craig's interview are
as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to British Esquire!
On the difference between blockbuster
roles and lower-budget endeavors:
“Bond movies live or die on their
popularity. They force you to care about what people think. And I’m involved [in
the films] on a very deep level. I have it in my mind all the time…So there’s
that kind of pressure, and that’s an enemy in any art form, acting
especially.”
On his role in getting Sam Mendes to
direct the latest Bond installment:
“It’s a very showbizzy story. I was at
Hugh Jackman’s house in New York. It was a soiree – we were in a play together –
and Sam [film and theatre director Sam Mendes] was there. I’d had a few too many
drinks and I went, ‘How do you fancy directing a Bond?’ And he kind of looked at
me, and he went, ‘Yeah!’ And it snowballed from there.”
Changing hair color about as often as she
changes shoes, Katy Perry has fired up L'Officiel magazine with a bright orange
mane.
The French magazine's September 2012
issue has the "Firework" singer front and center on the Cuneyt Akeroglu shot
cover with her long red hair.
However, back in the States, Katy was
spotted on Saturday (August 25) with her plain old black 'do. The 27-year-old
pop star headed to Disneyland with pals just days after her reported breakup
with John Mayer.
Ready to move on, she tweeted, "Today I
am promised happiness. Let's do this!"
The happiest place on earth seems to have
cheered her up as she was photographed in Micky Mouse ears at a restaurant and
zapping spaceships on the Buzz Lightyear ride.
Even at 53, Barbie is as hot as ever!
Earlier this year the 2012 Barbie For President doll was released, and Barbie's
latest fabulous incarnation is being dubbed "Drag Queen Barbie," although Mattel
and the drag-queen designers who created her deny that was their
intention.
Life in plastic might be fantastic, but
according to other rumors, Barbie will ditch her artificial skin and miniature
wardrobe when she comes alive on the big screen. There's reportedly a project in
development that will be the first Barbie live-action film, but she'll surely
adapt easily. Since her creation in 1959, Barbie has had 125 different careers
and a steady place in pop culture.
Fresh off of hosting the second season of
the NBC show "Love In the Wild," Jenny McCarthy has brought her beautiful self
to the cover of the Fall 2012 issue of Michigan Avenue magazine.
The 39-year-old Playboy beauty flaunts
her gourgeous gams in an Aryn K halter-neck dress with B by Brian Atwood bronze
sandals for the Robert Ascroft shot front page while dishing about everything
from her blonde bombshell status to making sure to be 'real' creating her
image.
Highlights from Miss McCarthy's interview
are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to Michigan Avenue!
On whether she's bored of being a
bombshell:
"Hell no! I hope I'm 60 and people are
still saying it. I do want people to know there's more, but, yes, I want the
'honk-honk' when you pass me."
On creating her image:
"Starting from the get-go, I made sure I
wasn't perfect. I just wanted to be real. You know, I burp, too, but don't be
offended."
On her NBC summer special 'Surprise with
Jenny McCarthy':
"This was a show that was in the UK for
20 years. I get to help people who've done great things in their community by
making their dreams come true."
Commonly bringing together Hollywood's
biggest names, Vogue recently revealed its top singers, designers, actors, and
models of the moment.
In the publication's September 2012
issue, The Vogue 120 features a rundown of the hottest stars under 45 including
Jennifer Lawrence, Rooney Mara, Adele, Beyonce Knowles, Lana Del Rey, Blake
Lively and Kristen Stewart.
The celebs are each featured in stunning
glamor shots taken by celebrity photographer Norman Jean Roy. Photos were taken
on location from New York City to London.
Vogue gives a gorgeous portrayal of each
celebrity and describes its feature, stating, “Every era has its stylish faces,
talents, and voices that profoundly influence the moment. Those featured on the
Vogue 120 list are bringing fashion to life right now—and for years to
come."
Coinciding with the recent DVD release of
her movie "Wanmderlust", Jennifer Aniston garnered herself a little added
exposure by covering the July/August 2012 issue of GQ Spain.
The 43-year-old big screen beauty showed
off her fit and fine figure in a selection of skin-baring ensembles for the
Craig McDean shot spread lining the Euro magazine's pages.
Aerin Lauder 's in the midst of launching
her own brand, and Aerin Lauder reaped herself added exposure by covering the
September 2012 issue of Town & Country magazine.
The Estée Lauder heiress draped herself
in a Rochas frock for the Jonathan Becker shot front page while posing in a red
Hermes dress and an equally fabulous Etro number for the accompanying inside
spread.
On her sense of style:
"I've always liked simple. Growing up I
wore corduroys and Lacoste shirts, Maraolo flats, and maybe one gold bracelet.
My grandmother (Estee) gave me a credit card to Ann Taylor when I was 15, and I
went and got cream-colored turtlenecks."
On "Aerin" - the brand:
"I've been in this business for so many
years, and the question of what's inside your makeup bag always came up. It
became what's in your closet, what's on your desk, your dressing
table."
Ronald Lauder on his daughter and famous
mother, Estee:
"I'm very proud of Aerin, and I believe
that however proud I am, Estee would have been twice as proud. She was almost
the same age as Aerin when she started and I know that with Aerin's knowledge in
cosmetics and her fabulous sense of style and taste, her new line will be just
as successful as her grandmother's line was when she started almost 60 years
ago."
Coming as her annual spin-off "Hollyoaks
Later" is due to air beginning next month, Jorgie Porter garnered herself a
little added exposure by covering the September 2012 issue of FHM
magazine.
The 24-year-old actress looks enticingly
hot in skimpy swimwear with ice cream cone props for the front page shot while
dishing about everything from her TV program's 'rudeness' to her distaste for
smooching in front of the cameras.
Just over a month removed from the
release of his third studio album, Believe, Justin Bieber continued his
promotional efforts by covering the Summer 2012 issue of Rollacoaster
magazine.
The 18-year-old superstar looked hip in
sports tracksuits, jeans and at one point a t-shirt featuring the word ‘Mother’
on the front of it for the publication's inside spread while dishing about
topics such as growing older and always striving to better himself and his
music.
Kate Upton 's becoming a favorite when it
comes to magazines, and Kate Upton garnered herself another highly sought after
gig by covering the August 2012 issue of GQ Italia.
The 20-year-old blonde bombshell looks
hot to trot in a t-shirt and shorts from Diesel on the Guy Aroch shot front page
while rocking garb from brands such as H&M, Intimissimi, House of Noyes and
Current Elliot in the accompanying spread.
Meanwhile, a few snippets from Miss
Upton's feature interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to GQ
Italia!
Kate Middleton has never accepted an
offer for a magazine photo shoot, but that didn’t stop Marie Claire South Africa
from putting Kate Middleton on the cover of their August 2012 issue.
The Duchess of Cambridge has been
photoshopped onto the body of a model wearing a Clive Rundle ensemble for the
front shot, the first of several doctored pictures.
Editor Aspasia Karras explained, "Kate
Middleton is, without a doubt, the world's new style icon. We have honored her
with a fan-art tribute, dressing her up in clothes by South African designers
and placing her in all sorts of fun, everyday situations."
Tribute or not, Marie Claire is likely
getting a mixed bag of feedback for this daring and perhaps questionable
move.
It’s no secret that in-laws can be
tricky, and even though Angelina Jolie isn’t yet married to Brad Pitt, rumor has
it her would-be mother-in-law Jane is already driving her crazy.
According to a report, the “Changeling”
chick threw a fit when she discovered that Mama Pitt purchased girlie clothes
for her daughter Shiloh, as the girl prefers to dress as a tomboy.
Per the rumor, Ang can’t believe Jane would try to force her daughter to
wear the uber-feminine garb, given that Shiloh is well-known to love dressing
like her brothers.
An insider claims, “It's well documented
that Shiloh likes to dress like a boy. But Jane still insists on buying her
fairy costumes and princess dresses, which Angelina finds very
disrespectful.”
Additionally, Jane also rubbed Ang the
wrong way when she wrote a letter urging Americans to vote against President
Barack Obama, citing his recently-changed view in favor of gay
marriage.
Mrs. Pitt declared, “Any Christian should
spend much time in prayer before refusing to vote for a family man with high
morals, business experience, who is against abortion, and shares Christian
conviction concerning homosexuality just because he is a Mormon.”
Known for insulting himself, Rob revealed
his latest insecurity at Comic-Con last weekend. Has he still not gotten the
memo that he’s one of Hollywood’s biggest heartthrobs?
Even surrounded by geeks at Comic-Con,
Robert Pattinson still finds ways to be hard on himself. So what did the bashful
actor put himself down for this time?
“I’m kind of a geek about everything,”
Rob told Yahoo!, “About movies, basically. I love telling people the entire plot
line of movies when I’m explaining it to them and then no one ever wants to hear
it.”
The 26-year-old Twilight star has talked
openly about his lack of confidence, but if the notoriously shy actor thinks
putting himself down may move some of the spotlight off of him- think again! We
can’t help but find his self-deprecating tendencies adorable!
With his divorce from Katie just settled,
Tom is focused on spending time with Suri.
There has been much speculation
surrounding the custody arrangement in Tom Cruise‘s divorce from Katie Holmes,
with most reports indicating that Katie has been granted primary custody over
their six-year-old daughter, Suri. While that may be true, a new report says
that Tom is planning to see Suri very soon.
According to E! News, a source close to
Tom says that the 50-year-old actor hopes to see his daughter as soon as he’s
finished shooting in Mammoth Lakes, California, which could be as soon as this
weekend.
“As soon as he is done shooting he will
arrange to see Suri. If he wasn’t shooting up in the mountains, I am sure he
already would be with her,” the source says.
The source also provided information
regarding the custody arrangement, saying that Tom and Katie’s plan for
visitation is “flexible” and “all set out” in the agreement. The source
acknowledged that Katie, 33, has primary physical custody of Suri, but that
“[Tom's] plan is to see Suri very, very often. He loves her dearly and is a
normal parent.”
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Are
YOU surprised that Tom will be able to see Suri so soon?
